Kesari Chapter 2 Box Office: Akshay Kumar’s latest release Kesari Chapter 2: The Untold Story of Jallianwala Bagh, has gained impressive box office collection in four days. The movie, released on 18 April 2025, is based on the post-situation of the Jallianwala Bagh massacre, starring Akshay Kumar, R Madhavan, and Ananya Panday in lead roles. While the movie was not expected to compete with mass movies like ‘Sikandar’, Kesari Chapter 2 had made decent earnings after witnessing a significant dip on its first Monday. The makers released the movie trailer, promising a powerful and intriguing sequel to the 2019 film, however, Kesari Chapter 2 received mixed reactions about the acting, storyline, and cinematography.
According to industry tracker Sacnilk, the film’s collections dropped by 69.83 percent, earning only RS 4.5 crore. This brings the total domestic collection to Rs 34 crore. On Monday, Kesari 2 had an overall Hindi occupancy rate of 14.39 percent. The film had a successful opening weekend, with a decent opening of Rs 7.75 crore on Friday at the box office. It experienced a 25% increase on Saturday, collecting Rs 9.75 crore, followed by another 23% gain on Sunday, earning Rs 12 crore. However, the film witnessed a dramatic decrease on its first Monday.

Talking about the first part, if we compare the earnings of both films, the 2019 film Kesari earned Rs 8.25 crore on its first Monday, which was nearly double that of the sequel. Furthermore, Akshay’s previous film Sky Force performed better, grossing Rs 7 crore on its first Monday. However, Kesari 2 outperformed Akshay’s other recent movies including Khel Khel Mein, which grossed Rs 2 crore on its first Monday, and Sarfira, which earned Rs 1.45 crore on the same day.
Directed by Karan Singh Tyagi, Kesari Chapter 2 is produced by Dharma Productions, Leo Media Collective, and Cape of Good Films. The film depicts a dramatic judicial struggle that occurs in the aftermath of the Jallianwala Bagh massacre. Akshay Kumar stars as Sankaran Nair, a brave and charismatic lawyer who fought an epic court battle against the great British Empire to reveal the horrible truth about the 1919 Jallianwala Bagh Massacre in Amritsar, Punjab. R. Madhavan portrays British lawyer Neville McKinley, while Ananya Panday plays Dilreet Gill.
