Munmun Dutta Biography

Munmun hails from West Bengal. She was born on 28 September 1987 in Durgapur, West Bengal. She is a holder of a Master’s degree in English. Munmun rose to fame in Hindi TV for portraying Babita Iyer in ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’ Munmun started as a child singer in Akashvani and Doordarshan in Kolkata. She is a trained classical singer. Not much is known about her family.   

Munmun Dutta Television Career

Her career on Hindi television started with a TV serial titled “Hum Sab Barati” in 2004 after working in the modeling industry for some time. She joined the cast of ‘‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’’ in 2008 and since then has been ruling over the audience’s heart for her role of Babita Iyer.

In her career that expanded over two decades, Munmun has also won some laurels to her name. She won the ‘Favourite Actress TV’ at the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards India for her part in ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’, and she was the ‘Best Actress in a Supporting Role’ at the Indian Television Academy Awards in 2021.
