Neeraj Chopra broke his own national record, this time throwing javelin up to 89.30 meters

Neeraj Chopra, who created history by winning the gold medal in the Tokyo Olympics, has created a new national record. Despite this, he could not win the gold medal. He scored second position and was awarded the silver medal. During the Paavo Nurmi Games being held in Finland, he threw 89.03 meters long, before that he threw 87.58 meters, due to which he got gold in last year's Olympics.

Who scored the gold?

Finland's athlete Olivier Helander took the gold by throwing a throw of 89.93 meters. Neeraj had entered the field for the first time in a competitive match after the Olympics held in Japan last year. He threw a throw of 89.30 meters during the match played at the Paavo Nurmi Games in Finland. During the Tokyo Olympics, he threw a throw of 87.58 meters. 

On Tuesday, he broke his own old record. Neeraj Chopra threw a throw of 86.92 meters in his first attempt. After this, in the third, fourth and fifth attempt, he could not throw more than 85.85 meters despite many efforts.

Neeraj on not winning the gold medal

Neeraj Chopra while talking to the press said “Very good competition and I am very happy to have my personal best and national record. Oliver (Helander) had great technique. I will play the next match on Court in four days.”  London 2012 Olympic gold medalist Keshorn Walcott of Trinidad and Tobago finished fourth in the 10-man field with 84.02m, while Tokyo 2020 silver medalist Jakob Wadledge of the Czech Republic finished sixth with 83.91m.

Union Sports Minister Anurag Thakur also tweeted and wrote that Golden Great Neeraj Chopra has done it again. Neeraj Chopra has created a new world record in the Pavo Nurami game.
