Mother’s Day Special:  Deepa Malik is an Indian Para-athlete, and the first Indian woman to win a medal in Paralympics. Her daughter Devika Malik was born with hemiplegia and is an international para-athlete. The mother-daughter duo comes together to share their story of bonding, courage, and inspiration. 

A mother-daughter duo like no other

Popular society beliefs were such that ‘no daughter is better than a disabled daughter’. Dr. Deepa Makik is changing the narrative, and the many laurels of Devika support her. Devika shares that her mother taught her to strive for excellence, and laugh along with people rather than being laughed at. It has shifted her perspective on life and achievements in life.
