Rashtrapati Bhavan Marriage: The Rashtrapati Bhavan is considered one of the most beautiful government buildings in India, where the President resides. In the history of India, the Rashtrapati Bhavan is all set to host a wedding ceremony for the first time ever. Poonam Gupta, the female CRPF Assistant Commandant who is posted as the Personal Security Officer (PSO) at the Rashtrapati Bhavan, will be the first person to get married on the premises.  

Who is Poonam Gupta?

According to reports, President Draupadi Murmu granted special permission for Poonam Gupta’s marriage because of her dedication to her job, commitment to strict standards while on duty, and professionalism. Poonam’s fiancé, Avnish Kumar, is also an Assistant Commandant in the CRPF, currently posted in Jammu & Kashmir. Poonam Gupta, from Shivpuri, Madhya Pradesh, gained national recognition after she led the women’s contingent in the 74th Republic Day Parade. Prior to her current position at Rashtrapati Bhavan, she worked in a Naxal-affected district in Bihar.
