Ray Stevenson, a well-known actor who played the evil British governor in RRR, Volstagg in Thor, and a significant enemy in the future Star Wars series Ahsoka, has passed away at the age of 58. Stevenson’s spokesperson informed about the passing away of the actor on Sunday, May 21.
He was reportedly hospitalised while filming on the Italian island of Ischia, although the cause of death is still unclear. His passing news was released four days prior to his 59th birthday.

Stevenson gained popularity for his performances in the critically acclaimed television shows Rome, Punisher: War Zone, and The Theory of Flight. Additionally, he was well-known for popular shows including Dexter, The Walking Dead, Black Sails, Vikings, and a number of animated Star Wars series. Stevenson’s next appearance will be in the soon-to-be premiered Disney+ Star War series Ahsoka. Accident Man: Hitman’s Holiday was Stevenson’s most recent film.
RRR director SS Rajamouli expressed his grief for the actor in a heartbreaking note and tweeted, '”Shocking... Just can’t believe this news. Ray brought in so much energy and vibrancy with him to the sets. It was infectious. Working with him was pure joy. My prayers are with his family. May his soul rest in peace.”
