Kay Kay Menon Receives Mixed Reviews for 'Shekhar Home'; Catch His Top Web Shows Where He Excels

Shekhar Home on JioCinema: Kay Kay Menon returned to the web screens, this time as a desi Sherlock Holmes traversing the vibrant lanes of Kolkata investigating murders with his desi Watson essayed by Ranvir Shorey in the JioCinema original series ‘Shekhar Home’. The 6-part series released today on the OTT platform and has been at the mercy of reviewers ever since. So far Menon has bagged mixed reviews ranging from scrutiny to praise for plot, roles and characters. Directed by Neeraj Pandey and Shivam Nair, the espionage crime thriller is led by Kay Kay Menon as Himat Singh, a member of RAW who hones five officers under him to track a terrorist mastermind. He is an unafraid yet slightly stoic officer with an ambition to make his team achieve what he failed to do in his younger years. His shrewd and determined nature goes well with the past he is trying to earth. 

Iftekaar Siddiqui in The Railway Men

Menon shines in his characteristic leadership persona in the Netflix limited series based on the events of Bhopal Gas Tragedy in 1984. He essayed the role of Iftekaar Siddiqui, the station master of the Bhopal Junction railway station who braves to save the grappling people of Bhopal succumbing to the poisonous methyl isocyanate leaking from the Union Carbide factory.

As a Bahupriya in Kolkata, Menon’s a part of the Netflix anthology based on the stories of ace writer and filmmaker, Satyajit Ray. He was praised massively to carry the second episode of the series single-handedly as a psychotic make-up artist who weaponises his skills to avenge the disregard society gave him only to be redeemed  and punished by his very skills. 

Ismail Kadri in Bambai Meri Jaan

The evocative eyes of Menon as an actor are again at brilliant play in this series that chronicles the rise of Mumbai mafia Dawood Ibrahim. As Ismail Kadri, an upstanding police man in the moral dilemma with a silence that screams multitude about his conscience and determination to clean the streets of Bombay from the risen unorganized crime.
