Sambhal Jama Masjid Name Changed To ‘Juma Masjid’, ASI’s New Sign Board Sparks Debate

Sambhal News: The controversial mosque of Sambhal is yet again in the headlines for the new sign board that has been put outside the mosque by the Archaeological Survey of India. The new signboard reads the name of the “Shahi Jama Masjid” as it is popularly called “Juma Masjid”. 

People of the Muslim community have expressed distress over the changing of the mosque's name saying that changing the name would not change the history of the place or the mosque. ASI in response has clarified that the official documents have recorded the mosque name as ‘Juma Masjid’.
