Selfiee Box Office Collection Day 1: Yet another Bollywood movie that failed to meet fans’ expectations

Bollywood is on a remake spree from quite a time, but has always failed to impress people with the same storyline and not-so-much-good performance. Talking about one such movie, Akshay Kumar’s latest release Selfiee met the same fate as other unsuccessful bollywood remakes.

The movie failed to achieve even a 1-crore mark on its first day.

Selfiee Box Office Collection Day 1

As per the trade report, Selfiee only sold tickets worth Rs 85-90 lakhs gross through advance booking for Day 1 at the box office. If we consider the actors in the movie, from Emran Hashmi to Akshay Kumar, it could have been much better.

Lowest performer

The movie, which stars Emran Hashmi, Diana Penty and Nushrratt Bharuccha along with Akshay Kumar, has failed so miserably, that even Akshay Kumar’s Rakshan Bandhan and Ram Setu are ahead of Selfiee. Rakshan Bandhan has earned around 2 crores from advance booking despite having a clash with Laal Singh Chaddha. Ram Setu made 2.40 crores. Now, everything depends upon the walk-in audience.

Selfiee Story

Directed by Raj Mehta, the film is an official Hindi remake of Malayalam film, Driving Licence (2019). Akshay Kumar plays a movie star who wishes to get a driving license to perform a stunt in one of his movies. So, he meets an RTO officer (Emran Hashmi) who turns out to be his massive fan. Things go chaotic when the two of them gets in an argument, which get publicised in front of the world and the media.
