X Sobhita Dhulipala to Jyothika: Bollywood Brides Who Wore Kanjeevaram Sarees For Their Wedding

Sobhita Dhulipala Wedding:  Sobhita Dhulipala and Naga Chaitanya got married on 4 December at Annapurna Studios, in Hyderabad. The couple looked regal in their wedding photos shared by Naga Chaitanya on his X handle. The bride and groom opted for a traditional ivory and gold wedding dress code.

Sobhita Dhulipala looked mesmerizing in a golden Kanjeevaram silk saree with her stacks of jewelry. She stood out as one of the few Bollywood brides who opted for traditional Kanjeevarams on their wedding day.

Dhulipala nonetheless has added herself to the list of brides who went for the regality of Kanjeevaram sarees. Check out the other bollywood bride who ditched the traditional red lehenga for shimmery Kanjeevaram Saree.

Deepika Padukone

Deepika Padukone had a Konkani wedding as per her South Indian culture and tradition for which she was wrapped in a rust orange and gold real zari Kanjeeveram Saree from House of Angadi in Bangalore custom-made for her. With elements of her home state Karnataka, and the craftsmanship of the artist from South India, her Kanjeevaram silk saree was a tribute to her roots.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan

Actress and pageant winner Aishwarya Rai Bachchan tied the knot with Abhishek Bachchan on 20 April 2007. She wore a golden Kanjeevaram saree from the illustrious designer Neeta Lullu that was created with real gold threads and expensive crystals studded on it priced at Rs. 75 lakhs. Her wedding saree was the talk of the town in that decade for their wedding remained a rather private affair.

Jyothika

An icon in the South Indian and Hindi film industry, Jyotika exchanged vows with Suriya on 11 September 2006. She was a trendsetter in ditching the red for a pastel pink-hued Kanjeevaram saree. Her wedding saree grabbed many eyeballs for her unconventional choice of color but it was also the intricate details like silver thread and diamond-like embellishment. She paired it with a matching shoulder-sleeved blouse.

Jyothika's wedding look is so underrated. She looked beautiful in a modern South Indian bridal look. pastels and diamonds. kinda way ahead of its time. Now I see a lot of South Indian brides in a similar look, especially Telugu brides.
