Vikas won silver in the Commonwealth Games and celebrated his victory by hitting his thigh in the style of Moosewala. Silver medalist in weight lifting Vikas Thakur has been a big fan of late Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala. Vikas has come to listen to Sidhu Moosewala Songs while traveling from India to Birmingham. The great thing is that Vikas did not eat food for two days after the murder of Musewala. Vikas Thakur’s love for Sidhu Moosewala

Vikas Thakur, who belongs to the Rajput Jat community of Himachal Pradesh, said after winning the silver medal in the Commonwealth Games , 'Punjabi Thappi was a tribute to Sidhu Musewala. I had not even eaten food for 2 days after his murder. It was absolutely heartbreaking for me.

Vikas’s medal was a gift for his mother

Vikas Thakur is still single and before coming to the Commonwealth Games, his family members had told him about getting married, on which Vikas had promised that he will marry only after winning the medal. Vikas's mother Asha Thakur said that the son gave a big gift on the occasion of his birthday. He congratulated me on the phone and said that mother, on the day it is your birthday, I want to win a medal. I want to give a gift to the country and a gift to you.
