Weather Update: Above-Normal Monsoon In June Likely To Impact Farmers And Agriculture

Weather Update:  Indian meteorologists have warned the Indian agricultural sector and farmers to brace for an above-normal monsoon in June. The increase in rain patterns can cause an impact on the crops of the season, as more than 42 % of the population relies on farming for their livelihood.

With favourable conditions in the Bay of Bengal, the strengthening monsoon is rapidly advancing towards North India with a possibility of reaching half of Bihar by the end of May. 

The total rainfall during the monsoon season is expected to be 106% of the normal average, indicating an "above normal" season.
