Hydari, a multicultural kid, was born in Hyderabad to a Sulaimani Bohra Muslim father, the late Ehsaan Hydari, and a practicing Buddhist mother Vidya Rao. She comes from two royal lineages with her parents descending from the family of erstwhile nobility of Hyderabad and Raja of Wanaparthy respectively.

Her parents parted ways when she was only 2, and later her mother moved to Delhi where she continued her further studies at Lady Sri Ram College, University of Delhi. For her initial education, Hydari went to Rishi Valley School, Madanapalle, Andhra Pradesh.

Additionally, she is also a trained Bharatnatyam dancer, who started learning the art form at the tender age of 6 under the tutelage of esteemed Leela Samson.

Aditi was earlier married to a lawyer turned actor, Satyadeep Misra, whom she met in college when she was only 17. She tied the knot with him at the age of 21, and after four years of marriage, things went awry resulting in their divorce.
On 27 March 2024, it was reported that she had married her secret boyfriend and co-star Siddharth in a secret wedding in Telangana, however, no confirmation came in from the couple themselves.
Aditi Rao Hydari has worked in multiple industries and has a diverse and dynamic filmography to speak for her skills as an actor. Her maiden venture into acting was made in 2004, in a Tamil language period drama film called ‘Sringaram’.
Her debut theatrical film was against South Indian cinema’s stalwart Mammotty in a Malayalam film, ‘Prajapathi’ in 2006.
Her journey in Bollywood too kicked off alongside some veteran names like Waheeda Rehman, Rishi Kapoor, and young actors Abhishek Kumar and Sonam Kapoor.
Hydari has also been a driven actor who wanted to see herself in a poignant role. However, initially, she was given many side roles in movies namely ‘Yeh Sali Zindagi’ and ‘Rockstar’. Her performance shone through the limited screen time and poorly fleshed-out characters nonetheless. Hydari has been a widely acclaimed name among film critics. She has worked with Ali Zafar in her first lead role in ‘London Paris New York’, was a part of ‘Murder’ franchise with ‘Murder 3’, worked with Akshay Kumar in ‘Boss’ and was seen in movies including ’Khoobsurat’, ‘Guddu Rangeela’, ‘Wazir’, ‘Fitoor’ and ‘Padmavat.
