Effects of Eating After Sunset

Our bodies follow a circadian cycle, which slows down the digestion process in the evening, making it more difficult to properly break down meals. This may lead to acid reflux, bloating, and indigestion. The circadian rhythm is an innate biological mechanism that governs various physiological processes, including the circadian cycle, within a 24-hour period. As part of this cycle, the body’s metabolism is more active during the day when we are supposed to eat and digest food well.
