Bahraich Violence: One Youth Killed Amid The Communal Clashes During Durga Puja Visarjan

Bahraich Violence:  A joyous celebration of Durga idol immersion turned into a horrifying reality for a youth of 22 years old in Uttar Pradesh as a fight over loud DJ music turned into a communal clash between two groups on Sunday. 

One dead, 30 Arrested

Bahraich became the battleground of torched shops and lost life on 13 October when clashes began in two groups over an alleged demand to turn off the music during the Durga idol immersion while they passed a Muslim neighborhood. This was followed by stone pelting, lighting up shops, and the death of a youth amidst it all. Tension is escalating in the district with the police officers rushing to the area, to investigate further. So far 30 people have been arrested in connection with the communal violence.
