‘Ustaad Ji’ Heeramandi:  Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnificent interpretation of the world of tawaif in the post-Independence era has hit the audience like a drug. While some cannot stop applauding it for its opulence, others believe it lacks substance and the realities of courtesans. A common thread of appreciation comes for the artists who went into the skin of their characters to outperform their potential. Indresh Malik aka the ‘Ustaad Ji’ of ‘Heeramandi’ shines as one such character.
