Lohri 2025: The legend of Dullah Bhatti is celebrated and honored each year at the festival of Lohri. The story goes that Dullah Bhatti, a Muslim thug in the Mughal Era of the 1500s was known for his charity and good work. He protected two sisters Sundari and Mundari from getting married to a Mughal, and their wedding with the suitors of their choice turned into the occasion of Lohri where he celebrated them with sweets like Rewari and til laddu. 

Lohri is one of the biggest harvest festivals for the farmers in north India, especially in Punjab as they worship the sun and fire god for a good harvest each year. 

The famous food of Lohri includes gajak, til laddu, rewari, peanuts, and sarso saag. 

Men and women adorn themselves with vibrant clothes from pulkhair dupattas to kurta pajamas.
