Maha Kumbh 2025: The Kinnar Akhara at the Maha Kumbh Mela has garnered much attention for their Amrit Snan at the Sangam, and the appointment of actress Mamata Kulkarni as its Mahamandeleshwar. Aliza Bai is also part of the Kinnar Akhara the Maha Kumbh renowned as India’s first Transgender dreadlock artist based in India, with an established studio teaching the grooming of dreadlocks to students professionally. 

Aliza Bai is also among the first journalists in India popularly known for interviewing the Naga Sadhavi in Hindi. 

Bai also shared their thoughts on US President Donald Trump’s remark of recognizing only two sexes in the States saying that it is sad that such a literate and educated nation is going backward. They lauded the Modi government for recognizing the third gender, and the welfare of the GBTQIA+ community.
