Rajkumar Rao and Bhumi Pednekar starrer ‘Bheed’ is based on a true event, when the world was hit by the Coronavirus outbreak. People in India were outraged, stockpiled rations, and hid inside their homes. Some were with relatives, while others were alone in other cities. The migrant workers, on the other hand, were left perplexed and trapped on the roadways as they attempted to return to their villages and that’s what director Anubhav Sinha, has done, conveyed those unfiltered, genuine feelings to the world. Read to know the story of the movie.
Bheed was released yesterday, March 24, and did a masterful job of stirring up horrible memories of the pandemic. Anubhav Sinha has perfectly combined the pandemic’s coronavirus infection with pernicious social inequality to create a stirring statement that stands out. Bheed describes the terrifying period of laborers who had left their villages to find work in various cities. However, when the country was placed under the government-imposed Covid-19 lockdown in May 2020, it resulted in the evacuation of nearly 10 million migrant laborers.
Rajkumar Rao has yet again impressed us with his spot-on acting skills. His role as Surya (Rajkumar Rao), the duty in-charge, is an exceptionally well-written character. As he does his best to uphold the law and order, he is divided by the casteism he encounters on a regular basis. Surya’s girlfriend is played by Bhumi Pednekar, who plays a doctor. Even with Rajkummar at the helm, Anubhav succeeds to keep the focus on the core issue. Pankaj Kapur also plays a very important role in the movie; he plays a member of the Pandit community.
The movie casts Rajkumar Rao, Bhumi Pednekar, Pankaj Kapur, Ashutosh Rana, Aditya Srivastava, and Dia Mirza in key roles. The movie revolves around the story of migration during the Covid-19 lockdown and what occurs when a varied group of people is halted at a state boundary by a police officer who is coping with his own issues.
