Rohan Jaitley Biography: Jay Shah made history on 27 August by becoming the youngest ICC chairman elected unopposed. He will begin his tenure in December 2024, leaving his current position as the BCCI secretary. Shah will replace Greg Barclay who refused to re-elect himself for a third tenure paving way for Jay Shah. As Shah prepares for his departure, Rohan Jaitley poses as the anticipated BCCI secretary. Who is Rohan Jaitley?

The current President of the Delhi and District Cricket Association, Rohan Jaitley is the son of late Arun Jaitley, India’s former Finance Minister from 2014 to 2019. He was born in Delhi to Arun Jaitley and Sangeeta Jaitley on  31 January 1989. 

His father was a prominent lawyer of his time, so his son Rohan Jaitley walked on the same steps of his father to become a lawyer who presently practices at the Supreme Court of India and the Delhi High Court. 

Rohan Jaitley Education Qualification  

A practicing lawyer, Rohan Jaitley pursued law from Amity University, reportedly obtaining a Bachelor's degree from India. He then went to Cornell University in New York to get his Masters of Law (L.L.M.).

Rohan Jaitley Career 

As a practicing lawyer, Rohan focuses on the cases presented before the Supreme Court of India and the Delhi High Court. His association with Indian cricket started almost four years back when he was the new President of Delhi & District Cricket Association (DDCA) in 2020. He was re-elected unopposed for a second term in 2023. 

He has also been working in the capacity of Central Government Standing Counsel for Delhi High Court since March 2024.

Rohan Jaitely currently stands as one of the strongest contenders in the race to overtake the position previously held by Jay Shah. It is also the strong influence of his father, Arun Jaiyely in the BCCI as he served as a former vice-president of it that cements his position to become the new secretary of BCCI.
