OpenAI News: OpenAI announced that it had agreed to reinstate Sam Altman as CEO and designate new board members. OpenAI’s biggest investor Microsoft announced the hiring of Sam Altman to the new position earlier this week. Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella revealed Sam's return on the X. As soon as Sam Altman was fired, the company's employees rushed out to investors, who urged Sam’s reinstatement. Not only that, but the employees launched a protest against the company’s decision and resigned.
Sam Altman and Greg Brockman, the company’s president who was also dismissed from the board last week, will return to the decision-making board immediately. Altman was sacked by OpenAI’s board of directors on Friday after differences over pacing up the development and commercialise artificial intelligence. Former Twitch CEO Emmett Shear has been appointed as the new CEO of OpenAI, while Microsoft, OpenAI’s largest investor, announced that Altman will run a new in-house AI unit.
