After Salman Khan’s Diwali surprise with ‘Tiger 3’, fans will be witnessing the historic journey of Field Marshal Sam Bahadur and his untamable spirit of patriotism with Vicky Kaushal’s spectacular screen presence. Vicky will be portraying the life of Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw, the first Indian Army officer to be appointed to the rank of Field Marshal, in one of the most important roles of his cinematic career. Manekshaw was instrumental in India’s triumph against Pakistan in the 1971 war, which resulted in the formation of Bangladesh. The two-and-a-half-minute trailer revealed Sam Manekshaw’s extraordinary leadership and his struggles. The trailer highlights Manekshaw’s unrelenting commitment to win the battle in the face of political pressure from the then-Indian government. The film also highlights Manekshaw’s 40-year military career, stressing his friendship with former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi and how they collaborated to defeat Pakistan.

Helmed by ‘Raazi’ director Meghna Gulzar, Sam Bahadur also stars Sanya Malhotra as Sam Bahadur’s wife Siloo, Fatima Sana Shaikh as former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, Neeraj Kabi as Jawaharlal Nehru, and Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub as Yahya Khan. While the teaser was released earlier in October, the trailer was released by Manoj Pande, Chief of the Army Staff. The film is set to hit the theatres on 1st December 2023.
