With the arrival of June, many areas are still experiencing heavy rainfall along with storms and strong winds, affecting the daily lives of people and creating flood-like situations. If we talk about the national capital, Delhi has been experiencing pleasant weather conditions since the month of May, with unprecedented rainfall and heavy dust storms giving relief from the scorching sun. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the national capital is expected to witness light rainfall and thunderstorms in the coming days.

On Sunday evening, citizens of Delhi-NCR felt a rush of relief from hot and humid weather as dust storms, strong winds and rainfall hit many areas of the city. Amidst this, the Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for Delhi, predicting partly overcast skies with light rain, thunderstorms, lightning, and strong winds on Monday. The minimum temperature is forecast to be around 27 degrees Celsius, while the maximum could reach 38 degrees Celsius.
The weather in Uttar Pradesh is continuously changing. On Sunday evening, rain and thunderstorms hit various areas, including Noida-Ghaziabad, making the weather pleasant and providing relief from the heat. The IMD has issued an orange alert for thunderstorms and showers in these areas on Monday as well. The Meteorological Department predicts rain in most of western Uttar Pradesh’s districts today. During this period, there will be thunderstorms, lightning, and strong winds. However, the weather in eastern Uttar Pradesh is forecast to remain dry.
The people of Bihar are facing severe heat conditions, and it is expected that the weather will become pleasant in the coming days. The Meteorological Department has issued a warning for heavy rain and lightning in 12 districts of Bihar during the next 24 hours, including West Champaran, East Champaran, Gopalganj, Siwan, Saran, Muzaffarpur, Sitamarhi, Shivhar, Darbhanga, Madhubani, Samastipur, and Vaishali. The monsoon is expected to arrive in Bihar between June 10 and 12.
Following the monsoon’s early arrival, Assam, Meghalaya, Manipur, Mizoram, Kerala, Odisha, and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal experienced heavy rainfall. More rain and gusty winds are forecast in northwest India during the next 3-4 days. The IMD has also issued a warning about dust storms in West Rajasthan from June 2 to 4. On the 4th and 5th of June, Odisha will most likely see hot and humid weather. From June 2nd to 4th, an intense downpour is forecast across Uttarakhand, Punjab, and Haryana. Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, and Chhattisgarh have also been issued a rain alert.
