Cannes 2025: Indian legendary actor Sharmila Tagore walked the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival on Monday. Walking shoulder to shoulder with her was her co-star and TV host Simi Grewal, making her Cannes debut at the age of 77. The two carried their characteristic elegance and eternal charm in bespoke outfits.

Attending the Cannes on day 7 was Shalini Passi, the Indian art collector known for her Netflix show, Fabulous Lives vs Bollywood Wives.

Veteran actress Sharmila Tagore attended the screening of Satyajit Ray’s film ‘Aranyer Din Ratri’. The 4K restored version of the film was screened in the classical category. The idea to screen Ray’s film was introduced by acclaimed director Wes Anderson.

Tagore walked the red carpet for the film’s screening in an alluring green silk saree with a golden zari border, completing the look with a golden clutch and green earrings. Her presence was a symbol of India’s longtime brilliance in cinema.

Simi Garewal’s Cannes Debut At 77

Simi Garewal debuted at the steps of the Palais for the screening of Ray’s film, ‘Day and Night in the Forest’ as a lead protagonist. She wore a custom outfit from the Indian designer label Karleo. Her outfit featured a corset skirt paired with a long jacket in all ivory, true to her particular style.

Simi’s outfit was an ode to Indian art and artists, with traditional Indian motifs adorning her skirt and jacket, made with fabric like silk, speaking of a heritage of Indian textiles.

Shalini Passi Debut At Cannes 2025

Shalini Passi’s debut was nothing short of artist reflecting her love for collecting art as an art connoisseur. Designed by popular Indian designer Manish Malhotra, Passi wore a navy blue ensemble inspired by the work of Indian artist Paresh Maity, titled ‘Longitude 77’.
